I am an architect as well as a chainsaw artist. I work from Cape Town,

Discovering chainsaw carving relatively recently, I have found a passion for this medium of sculpture and working with timber. I love the physicality of working with chainsaws as carving tools and finding immediate expression in solid wood forms.

I enjoy the craftsmanship involved in visualizing an artwork from a rough piece of timber and seeing the form start to emerge over the course a few hours.  Having a background in architecture helps me to visualize a 3-D sculpture and what may be possible with any given piece of wood.

I love the freedom and creativity that comes with this art form.
